Mr. Brown received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1967 and his J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law in 1970. Mr. Brown has more than forty years of trial experience, principally in the defense of medical malpractice cases. Mr. Brown also has extensive trial experience in matters involving products liability and commercial law. Mr. Brown is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Massachusetts and the United States District Courts for the Western and Northern Districts of New York.
His professional memberships include the New York State Bar Association for which he was chairperson of the INCL Professional Liability Committee and an Executive Committee member. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the International Association of Insurance Counsel. Mr. Brown has been elected to the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been named as an Advocate by the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Mr. Brown is an experienced lecturer for physicians’ groups and medical societies and has participated in many Bar Association-sponsored Continuing Legal Education programs as an instructor. He has been invited to lecture on medical and legal issues by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Rochester Academy of Medicine, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Mr. Brown has also lectured to staff members and physicians at Highland Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester and the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
Mr. Brown was formerly a member of the Rochester/Syracuse law firm Martin, Ganotis, Brown, Mould & Currie, P.C. After serving as senior trial attorney at Martin Ganotis, he then founded and led the predecessor firm Brown & Tarantino, LLC, for 15 years before founding BGP. Mr. Brown is responsible for cases involving all medical specialties; however, Mr. Brown has developed a particular expertise in defending obstetrical professionals against claims of malpractice. Mr. Brown is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
